Back on the grid Actualités | 22.05.2024

In August last year, a severe hailstorm destroyed the roofs of the S+P Samson buildings.

One of the first things to be done after the emergency sealing of the roof was to dismantle the photovoltaic system. 1,034 modules were cut up and dismantled. Not that the modules were defective - they had to be removed to allow access to the roof. Seven months later, the roof has been repaired. In April, the modules were painstakingly repositioned and rewired so that the switch could be flipped at the end of April. Our solar power station is up and running again!

Ironically, as planned, a new photovoltaic system has been installed in the meantime. The company car park was given a roof structure with a further 500 modules. This was completed last November - but the system is still not in operation. This is because the grid operators are at the limit of their capacity. The plan was for S+P Samson to work with 100% of its own energy during the sunny months.
Now it's May... and there's no sign of it coming on stream.
