Reliable transponder labels for use on metal surfaces
Using RFID technology on metal surfaces is considered particularly challenging, as metal can attenuate or completely block radio signals. With our RFID On-Metal labels, S+P Samson offers a solution that has been specially developed for these conditions: it is robust, reliable and practical.
These labels are made using our proven GRAPHIPLAST® material technology, which is heat- and chemical-resistant and mechanically resilient, making it ideal for industrial environments. Combined with our ID4Track® RFID product line, the result is a label that is extremely durable and communicates precisely and reliably, even on or near metallic surfaces.
Intelligent label design for reliable performance
The key to functionality lies in the label's intelligent design: for the RFID transponder to work reliably, its antenna must be kept at a set distance from the metal surface. Our special label design meets this technological requirement by protecting the antenna while ensuring readability.
Firstly, the RFID on-metal label can be printed like a conventional thermal transfer label, directly in the standard printing process and without any additional adjustments. In the second step, simply moving your hand is all it takes to create a label flag from the flat label. This flag creates the necessary distance from the metal surface to ensure the functionality of the RFID component, and it is also highly visible and durable.
