Efficient billet marking on the cooling bed | 01.10.2025

Reliable labelling at temperatures between 400 °C and 450 °C

There are two main applications for tracking billets seamlessly in steelworks:

  • in the strand after cutting, at approximately 900 °C
  • on the cooling bed at around 400 °C

S+P has introduced GRAPHIPLAST® 7377.130, an eco-friendly addition to its high-temperature product range designed specifically for use on the cooling bed.

This high-performance label offers impressive features:

  • heat resistance of up to 450°C
  • easy labelling using standard thermal transfer ribbons
  • smudge-proof barcodes and 2D codes, even at high temperatures
  • robust design for harsh conditions in steelworks

Thanks to the durable materials and flexible design options, the labels can be seamlessly integrated into existing processes. Temperature-resistant inks ensure clear coding of steel grades and support efficient warehouse organisation.
