S+P Samson is investing in two major energy projects at its Kissing production site. The focus is on the electrification of heating and cooling systems, as well as the further expansion of the company’s own photovoltaic installations.

Our ‘Heating/Cooling’ project began with the conversion of the existing natural gas-based building services. The existing infrastructure is being reused for the new heating solution. The conversion of the ventilation system to air conditioning is more extensive. Modern water-based heat exchangers support both the heating and cooling of the building.

Optimal conditions for people and materials

The cooled air is distributed via additional air ducts and fabric air hoses. This improves working conditions for our team whilst ensuring consistent climatic conditions for the processing of sensitive materials.

Constant temperatures and controlled humidity are key factors in ensuring consistent product quality when processing our speciality adhesives and films.

Expansion of our own photovoltaic system

S+P Samson already operates a 343 kWp rooftop PV system at its Kissing site. The electricity generated on site is used, amongst other things, for our production facilities and to power ten charging points for electric vehicles.

In addition, the system is being expanded with a PV car park canopy providing a further 187 kWp. The canopy offers space for around 60 vehicles. This means that areas that are already sealed off are being used to generate electricity.

During sunny months, a large proportion of the site’s electricity requirements can be met directly by our own photovoltaic systems.

By electrifying our building services and expanding our photovoltaic capacity, we are increasing the proportion of electricity we generate ourselves at the production site and reducing our dependence on fossil fuels.
