Interview | Isabelle Callerot

It was a very special trip for our sales consultant Isabelle Callerot: her first time in Morocco and also her first visit to the African continent. In this interview, she shares her impressions of Casablanca:

Visiting a customer, more than 14 years after the first order. What was the reaction like?
It was exciting. I was accepted immediately. Visiting Morocco was also a first for me. In fact, it was my first trip to Africa.

What were your impression when you arrived?
The destination airport was Casablanca. The city is Morocco's leading economic centre. The airport and the streets leading to the hotel were very busy. Everything was very busy and crowded. I was glad I didn't have to drive myself. On the way to the hotel, you can see that the difference between rich and poor is an issue. A large part of the population lives in very modest conditions.

What was your impression of the country and its people?
Arabic is the official language. On the street, French, my mother tongue, is omnipresent. This of course makes communication easier. I was impressed by the hospitality and friendliness. I felt very comfortable.

How is the economic situation in the companies?
It is good. We have talked about new projects, because there is a lot of investment in infrastructure. The environment is modern and the IT infrastructure is, as so often, SAP. This paves the way for entry into RFID technology, for example. An important part of the interview.

What do you remember im particular?

The coffee and tea culture. Very refined and very attentive. I particularly remember the taste of peppermint tea.

Thank you for this interview.
