Tear-resistant, weather-resistant identification for structural steel, bundles, and building materials – reliably readable from storage and transport through to the construction site.
On construction sites, materials are moved around several times – from storage, via transportation, to the relevant installation or assembly area.
During this process, the labels are exposed to rain, UV radiation, dust, dirt and mechanical stress.
If a label is lost or becomes illegible, identifying the material can quickly become impossible. This means deliveries must be checked, materials searched for or batches and components tracked manually. This is time-consuming and increases the risk of mix-ups.
Labelling bulky building materials such as bundles, bars, pipes and profiles is particularly challenging as traditional adhesive labels cannot always be used reliably.
S+P Samson develops robust labelling solutions for such conditions, featuring tear-resistant hang tags, durable adhesive solutions and barcode and RFID options for end-to-end identification.

Crane transport, strapping, sharp edges and frequent handling can put labels under severe strain.
Tear-resistant GRAPHIPLAST® materials ensure that labels remain intact even under high mechanical stress.
Bundles, bars, pipes and other building materials often do not provide a suitable surface for standard adhesive labels.
Hang tags, adhesive labels and combination labels allow the attachment method to be adapted to the material and process.
Material information must remain clearly accessible from storage and transport through to the point of use.
Barcodes, DataMatrix codes and RFID enable continuous digital identification throughout the material flow.
Reinforcing steel passes through several stages before it is installed in its intended position on the construction site. Cutting, bending, bundling, loading and transport place different demands on both the label and its method of attachment.

In the rebar fabrication shop, bars and coils are cut and formed according to the bending schedule. The finished positions are then bundled and assigned to the relevant order, construction section or installation location.
Robust hang tags keep the relevant information directly on the bundle – from fabrication and transport through on-site storage to final installation.
At seele GmbH, components are assigned to construction sites using RFID. For tool management, pre-serialised FORTOBOND® labels with DataMatrix codes are used – providing clear and permanently readable identification even under demanding operating conditions.
Every surface and every process is different. That is why we recommend carrying out a practical test under real-world conditions.
